Gallup: Only 4% of Americans Think Gun Control is an Important Problem
April 16, 2013
By Michael James

(CNSNews.com) – Only 4 percent of Americans think guns and
gun control are an important problem facing the country,
according to Gallup, and far more Americans are concerned
about the economy, unemployment and the federal debt.

In its poll from Apr. 4-7, Gallup surveyed 1,005 adults by
telephone and asked, "What do you think is the most
important problem facing the country today?"

Respondents answered in the following order:

Economy in general 24%
Unemployment/Jobs 18%
Dissatisfaction with Government 16%
Federal budget deficit/Federal debt 11%
Healthcare 6%
Ethical/Moral/Family decline 5%
Immigration/Illegal aliens 4%
Education 4%
Guns/Gun control 4%
Situation with North Korea 4%
Lack of Money 3%
Welfare 2%
Lack of respect for each other 2%
Poverty/Hunger/Homelessness 2%
Foreign aid/Focus overseas 2%
Taxes 2%

Despite the Obama administration's strong push for more gun
control legislation, few Americans are concerned about the
issue.

As Gallup reports, "Few Americans mention guns or
immigration as the most important problems facing the nation
today, despite the current attention lawmakers in Washington
are giving to these issues. The economy still dominates as
the top concern, followed by jobs and dissatisfaction with
the general way in which Congress and the government work."

These data "underscore the prominence of economic issues in
Americans' minds," said Gallup.

Senate to Vote on Firearms-Related Legislation This Week
The U.S. Senate is poised to take up consideration of firearms legislation as early as this week. While Senate leadership is still determining exactly what legislative language to bring to the floor for a vote, we do know Sen. Feinstein (D-Calif.) will offer an amendment to ban modern sporting rifles, the most popular rifles being sold in America, and factory-standard magazines.

Another anti-gun senator, New York's Chuck Schumer, is pushing to require so-called "Universal Background Checks" on all private transfers that the Justice Department says requires national registration and exposes firearms retailers to liability and burdensome and costly record keeping requirements.

Now is the time to for your voice to be heard on Capitol Hill!

Call your U.S. senators at 202-224 3121, and tell them to VOTE NO on Feinstein's gun ban amendment and on any bill that requires "Universal Background Checks."

Antis putting on big, big push on U.S. Senate! Our folks say: "No new gun laws needed"

The antis and their friends in the main stream media are pouring
on the support for the U.S. Senate to pass major gun control bills.

Understand that the "Universal" checks include requirements that
would make it a federal crime to loan a firearm to a friend to use
at the range.  The bills keep evolving from this into that restrictions.
The U.S. Senate is going to take up the gun control bills very soon.
This is why the president did his pro-gun control press conference
last week. The president called for the antis to call U.S. Senators.

It does not matter if you have called before, that was then and this
is the current fight. Push back on Sen. Feinstein's gun control dream.

Consider getting friends and family members sitting on the sidelines
to call.  This bills will impact all gun owners, everybody is involved.

This is 1994 all over again. In that year they passed the background
check law and emboldened by that victory, passed the law commonly
called the Assault Weapons Ban, outlawing the manufacturer of many
firearms and all magazines that held more than 10 rounds.

We are in the same political situation again. They are trying to pass the
whole agenda, but will start with the their "Universal Registration" bill.
If they pass that bill, they will come right back for a ban like the one
NY State just enacted.  NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg is pushing for it.
