The NRA Day and NRA Women On Target events below received a grant from the profits of Vermont's
six Friends of NRA banquets. The grant was administered by the Vermont Federation of Sportsmen's Club.
NRA Day – The North Country Sportsman's Club is hosting a series of NRA Day events this year, holding new shooter shotgun clinics from 12:45pm to 3:00pm the first Sunday of each month from May through September, plus other sessions if requested. During May and June, nearly 20 people have taken the training, with good interest already indicated for July. The three remaining sessions will be held on July 6th, August 10th, and September 7th. (The August session is the second Sunday as the State Sporting Clays Championship is on August 2 and 3)
Women on Target – The North Country Sportsman's Club is hosting a series of three Women on Target shotgun training events in June, July, and August.
Saturday June 28th, 8:30 – 12:00
Sunday July 13th, 12:30 – 4:00
Saturday, August 23rd, 8:30 – 12:00
The program of instruction includes gun safety, gun basics, and an introduction to the game of Trap Shooting. There will be classroom instruction and range instruction with clay targets. Ammunition, equipment, light breakfast, or lunch is being provided. There are still seats available for all three dates, however July 13th is nearly full at this time. To ensure adequate personal attention to each participant, each session is being limited to 20 students.
The cost of the NRA Day events is $20 per person. The cost of the Women on Target event is $40 per person. The instructor for all of these events will be Tom Blair, an NRA Certified Shotgun Instructor and Range Officer. He will be assisted by other experienced shooters or instructors as necessary. Information for both programs is on the NCSC website, www.shootncsc.com, or contact Tom Blair at the below email address, or one of the listed phone numbers (cell preferred).
