> Since 1907, Camp Perry, located at Port Clinton Ohio, has been the site of the National Matches run by the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) and the National Rifle Association (NRA).  For this year, well over 1,000 competitors were present for the CMP matches with competitors present from all 50 states, in addition to competitors from Canada, England, Ireland and Australia.
>
> Life-long shooting buddies Bruce Baroffio and Chris Bradley, both residents of Northfield, attended this year's CMP matches from July 16 th – 23 rd.  The highpoint of their attendance was the CMP Games competitions, which are matches focusing on using "as-issued" US Military Service rifles such as the M1 Garand, the 1903 Springfield, M1 Carbine and Vintage Military Bolt Guns.
>
> Based on the scores attained by the respective shooters, Gold, Silver and Bronze medals are awarded, in addition to recognition of first, second and third place.
>
> In the M1 Garand match, Mr. Baroffio not only earned a Gold medal with his stellar score of 290-3x (out of 300), this score was exceptional enough to earn him 3rd place out of 1,072 total shooters where he tied both first and second place but came in third only based on "x" count (number of center shots); Mr. Bradley earned a Silver medal in that same match
>
> In the Springfield 1903 match, Mr. Bradley earned a Gold medal with a score of 280-3x with Mr. Baroffio earning a Silver medal.
>
> In the Vintage Military bolt gun match, Mr. Bradley earned a Bronze medal; unfortunately Mr. Baroffio's Swedish Mauser suffered a malfunction which prevented him from medaling.  Due to a scheduling conflict, neither shooter was able to compete in the M1 Carbine match.
